Upgrading 9.1->.2 or .3

Hi. I'm brand new to Suse (previously a Slackware and RH user). I have a pretty minimal Suse 9.1 install, and want to see about upgrading it to 9.2 or 9.3.

This machine is remote, so I use the ncurses Yast. My question is: how hard is it to upgrade from 9.1? How do I do this?

Any tips for this Suse newbie? Thanks!

If your are installing, or upgrading any distro revision, you should do it locally. Suse has apt4rpm, which will allow you to upgrade most of your packages to 9.2 levels remotely, but not to 9.3. A local upgrade should work fine either way. Suse is pretty good about migrating.

A local upgrade is not an option. The server is sitting somewhere in a server farm in NY, and I'm in Texas.

Then install apt4rpm and it's repositories.

http://linux01.gwdg.de/apt4rpm/

And that's as good as it's gonna get.

apt-get dist-upgrade

Thanks for the advice Thoreu. Is it possible to do this with yast? I've been using yast so far for my package management, and I'm not sure if switching back and forth with apt4get will confuse the package management (on either apt4get or yast)

I wasn't sure if I could just point Yast to a 9.2 or 9.3 ftp ...
