Unable to shutdown graphically as average user
Is there a way to shutdown graphically from the KDE logout window, instead of having to open a terminal window and type in the root password in order to be able to type 'shutdown -h now' or 'halt' ??
I'd like that when I select a menu option (preferably the logout option) I should see a window with options like "Shutdown", "Restart" and "End session". A "Suspend to disk" or "Hibernate" would be great.
In fact, it's silly that a user with physical access to a computer is not given access to properly shutdown. After all they can always unplug it from the power source, which is worse. BTW, I also have access to suspend to disk (like hibernate in windows) from kpowersave which is in the system tray, and it doesn't ask for any password at all.
I am using KDE 3.4.2 on OpenSUSE Linux 10 Evaluation Edition (downloaded the 5 CD ISOs from Novell's web site a couple of weeks ago).
Thanks in advance.
