Themes install but not there...

I've been trying to install some some kde styles and some windecs on Suse 10.0 with kde 3.5 but it's hit and miss whether or not they appear in the control centre.
I've tried installing through yast, apt/synaptic and compiling from source but it makes no difference.
I get no errors when compiling themes and they show up in synaptic and yast as installed but only some show up in the control centre.
Also, I installed baghira, the windec shows up in the control centre but not the style yet I am able to add the baghira starter bar to the panel and that is fully working but it's part of the style which is apparently not there.
Can anyone help?

I had issues with that stuff too. It usually occured before I redid my own kernels, but my guess is that which is truly at fault would be missing dependencies. But beware of this warning as when you compile them yourself, sometimes the error is that it isn't designed to be added to control center by default, but instead was written for a single distro, or worse, a distro with its own control panel so nothing is added to the Kcontrol.

But installing them from yast or apt should deal with any dep problems and they will also be suse specific packages.
