Question SUSE10.0 X11R6.8.2 kde/kdm instable

Suse(10.0 or 9.3, just the same) startup hangs!
it depends (on what I don't know) :
after the first, second or third restart
SUSE 9.3 or SUSE10.0 do stop in runlevel 5:
-vers. 1: goes until kde-login, accept passwd. than nothing
- vers. 2: goes to blank(blue)kdm.screen,cursor stop
- vers. 3: goes to console login.
login via console possible as root or user!
in var/logs errors reported to NOVELL-SUSE (no answer since
October 2005! phone-support. unable to help, able to take my
money!)
report to ASUS (my moth.brd: P4800SE;graphic:RADEON 9600)
: they gave me a ATI-Driver update to 8.20.8 - did not help

finally i tried to install the new X-ORG Windows: R6.9 -
but i did not succeed.

So has anyone a good idea?

thanks and kind regards

Leos

No smart ideas on my side so far. Have a look at the logs /var/log/kdm.log and something like ~/.xsession-errors (don't remember the exact filename). You seem to have some problems with the powermanagment, but I don't think this could cause a kdm problem.
