I like Suse as a desktop client hands down. I have used both 9.1 and 9.2 on my dual-boot pc at my office for the last few months. I plan on testing Novel Desktop once I find the time to download the 3 CDs and a machine to test it on. However their are just a few things I would love to see in the future of Suse.
1) A Official GUI Novel Login Client - I like the novelclient but I still find it a bit lacking compared to the offical client on a WIN box. If Novell is so set on Linux why havent they ported their login client yet?
2) Quicker on getting new released on a FTP server. I dont like having to constally dig out my cds if I want to use YAST to change packages.
3) Cheaper Price for just the cd and NO DOCS OR SUPPORT. That would be wonderful. I dont need manuals and I dont need offical support. I'd be willing to pay $$ for just a ISO image. Just not ~$80.

A few answers here.
1. Because Novell is trying to migrate to clientless logins, ie. no software needed to log in.
2. You can always iso your disks and mount them locally, or add packman to your sources.
3. That would be cool. Are you sure no one sells the distro in a "just-the-cds" form?
I really dig the direction SuSE is going, their laptop support in 9.2 is amazing, and they seem on track to take over the desktop market in the future.
I would like to see them add the ivtv driver (for hauppage capture cards) to their distro, and add MythTV and other V4L apps to their next version. Mandrake already does this from what I hear, but I prefer SuSE as a distro overall.
I've one answer to your last questions and hope that will bring your whish completed. To get down the suse linux posted freely is ya withing the usa or canada for a cheap price.
Clientless login sounds nice. However what are we suppose to do until then?
Does packman have the sources for 9.2 yet?
I havent really looked for the just-for-cd yet. I want to find a legit place doing it. I'm kinda worried I would be ordering from some guy just making copies with blank cds :P
I love Suse as a desktop. I personally wish I could get my msi tv @nywhere to work with it though
RE Item #3: Check the official SUSE website and also Amazon. I purchased the original SUSE packaged UPGRADE to 9.2 for USD 50.00 with free shipping. This is the full distro including CD's and DVD. From my understanding, the only difference is I wil receive the Administrative manual, but not the regular User manual. Not a big deal for me since I have 8.1, 9.0 and 9.1 Pro full version.
FYI, I did previously order the 5 CD set from the vendor shown in this thread. They are excellent copies of the 5 CD set.
Their are other login clients that come with suse you know, 2 official. The default does such I know, but you can change it under YaST -> System -> /etc/sysconfig editor
How about adding a feature to YAST for saving the install configuration. Then I could use the same settings for multiple hosts. The funny thing is, I think back in version 7.0, yast had this capability.

I need to be able to use my WIFI just like in WIndows. So far is a PITA! It is the only feature in my laptop that is not working.

Actually I bought SuSE 9.2 Pro from him, and even talk to him a few times about the dual layer dvd's. Anyways he lables all the cd's and I had zero problems, like no corrupt files, which seems to be hard to accomplish these days.
