SuSE 9.3 IDE/PIO modes

In my boot log it tells me that it is assuming a 33MHz speed for pio mode.

I'm running an HP ZE4560us laptop with a ata 100 7000rpm hard drive and the built in cd burner/ dvdrom. Is this correct? I thought my bus speed was 100 or 66.

Help is greatly appreciated.

It "assumes" 33Mhz during boot before DMA kicks in.

Hmmmmm.
Found this while searching...

"That option has *nothing* to do with
the transfer speeds like UDMA133 etc. idebus sets the clock rate of the
connection between your IDE controller your chipset. As all other
timings are derived from the frequency, things can go seriously wrong if
passed wrong values.

The frequency of the IDE bus in most cases is the clock rate of your PCI
bus which normally 33 MHz. Only in case of either running a system with
66 MHz PCI bus or an overclocked system where bus speeds aren't
independent of the processor clock this option needs to be used.

In all other cases DON'T FIDDLE WITH IT unless you understand what it's
meant for. "
