I had a home server up for about a year, then I shut it off for the weekend. In that time I was able to ssh into the box. Now, I can't...from WinSCP I get a connection reset by peer and using PuTTY it says the same thing (only, I can enter a username and password...it rejects the password). I can ssh to the machine from itself, though.

Any thoughts? Much obliged.

Hmmmm, I'm also getting the message about the RSA key for the server being changed each time I attempt to log in, and when I try to enter the account's password, it rejects it from ssh, but not locally on the machine.

Run this command on your client PC. This will delete the known_hosts file.
And try connecting again. It will ask you to accept some RSA key. Just enter yes. and it will work normally.
