SuSE 8.1

My zip drive became inaccessible after a 8.1 to 9.3 upgrade. The fstab entry is:

/dev/sde4 /media/zip auto noauto,user 0 0

When I tried "mount /media/zip", the error message was:

/dev/sde4 not a valid block device

I also tried mounting as subfs but zip drive failed to respond.

try installing udev if you don't have it.

I think upgrading from an 8.x release is a bad idea :/

Have a look at the output of 'dmesg' after you plugged-in the drive. It should show if the drive has been recognised and if a device-node has been created.
