The checksum of downloaded file SUSE 12.1 x86_64 DVD (it was dl with aria2c) has been checked (md5sum and sha1sum) and has been proved as 100% OK. But when I checked the inserted DVD (installation media check)the result was Wrong checksum. I have to tell that after burning DVD with K3b the result was also 100% right. So my question is what the h*** is wrong? I have burnt at least 10 DVDs with wrong checksum.
Just to double check, this is the process that's been followed so far:
1) Choose the 64 bit version, and download the openSUSE 12.1 x86_64 DVD ISO image from the download page on the openSUSE web site.
2) Grab the md5 and sha1 sums from somewhat further down on the openSUSE download page on the openSUSE web site.
3) Run md5sum and sha1sum commands against the downloaded ISO image, checksums match.
4) K3b computes md5 sum, which matches, K3b burns with verify option chosen, burn verifies.
5) Somehow, after the DVD was re-inserted into a DVD drive, the checksum was re-verified.
Is that correct?
How was the checksum re-verified after re-inserting the DVD into a DVD drive?
Do your system logs reveal any errors on the DVD drive?

Hi,
From 1 to 5 was as mentioned. Everything correct. And yes, checksum was verified after reinserting the DVD. No error on the DVD drive.
I actually meant, what did you use to re-verify the checksum after you re-inserted the DVD in the drive.
However, even though the actual menu choice is "Check Installation Media", I probably should have realized that's what you meant by "(installation media check)" in your original post.
OK, let's double check that we are definitely talking about the same ISO image:
When the file command is run on the ISO image, this is the output:
Code:
openSUSE-12.1-DVD-x86_64.iso: ISO 9660 CD-ROM filesystem data 'openSUSE-DVD-x86_640039 ' (bootable)
