This is my first time ever installing on its own drive and when I did It rebooted and gave me Grub loading stage 1.5 then error 17. During the install I had it do a clean format. I have seen other people with the same problem but since Its my first boot I dont have a root password yet so I cant log in.
One guy said to go in to the rescue system and type "grub-install /dev/hda"
I had no problems on my last install using 9.3
If some one could help me out it would be greatly apprecated
Well grub-install /dev/hda will install Grub all over again. May or may not be your problem though.
When you said you're installing Suse10 on its own drive, is it on the whole drive on its own or what?
Is it on hdb ? Perhaps if you're not sure, you can boot the Suse install disc over again and when you get to the install data, click the Expert tab and view where the mount points are and where grub is being installed and report back just what it shows on detection.
I booted it up and got an error #18 now and I checked the bios and it showes that it only recinises 84 gb (thanks Jongi for the having me look in the bios) I think I am going to try to flash my bios and get it to read the correct amout of space.
