Sound card not recognized at start up

ICE1724. In etc/.rc.d/ I have no local file. How can I get the board to load on start up? Suse 11.1.

I have to reconfigure my sound card at every boot up. Sure could use an idea on how to save the setting.

Usually running both alsaconf and the yast2 sound configuration will fix sound problems. Suse runs a service called alsasound rather than using /etc/rc.d/local

Thanks for the reply. When I boot up I've opened yast to find the card configured, sometimes, the I'll go to alsaconf. I don't get it. After a while the sound will start working.
A hard one to pin down.

In the sound configuration, you might try disabling pulse audio if it uses it. Look at the dropdown box in the lower right hand corner, and deselect "use pulseaudio".

Sure wish someone had a solution for this. Everytime I boot up I have to go into Yast and configure the card then run "alsaconf"
