Slow DNSing?

When I try to bring up a webpage its slow as dirt.

I confirmed my network settings are correct, my DNS is working as I have a Windows machine working perfectly. There is no IP conflict, and I have IPv6 disabled.
I also have the firewll disabled.

I was in Mandriva 2007 and I ditched that thanks to a few bugs that I just couldn't figure out. I posted on usenet and some jerk kept saying it was my firewall, despite the fact I had all ports open and posted proof.

The near equivalent repos for SuSE would be GURU and PackMan, but what you're talking about specifically doesn't have packages for SuSE, AFAIK.

There's a sticky in this forum with information on adding repos.
