screen saver at defalt on suse 10.2

i had this problem on suse starting with version 10. mo matter that i do,screen saver starts after 4 minutes.
i did : configure desktop -> appearance and themes -> screen saver then at setings i choose start automaticaly after 30 min. but screen saver still starts after 4 min,as in default.it doesnt matter much, but just would like to know whats wrong?or maybe i should change the setting some where else?
i have the same story with KpowerSaver.i select : Set CPU Frequency Policy -> Performance, but after restart it is always at Dynamic.
i presume there should be other place where i should configure.any ideas???
thanks in advance

.I did that and it worked for me with 10.2. I changed it to 8 mins and did away with "require password to stop".
