resizing reiserfs

I wonder if i could get some advice?
I am running suse10 and which is installed on top of windows XP,yast did all the workand set hda7(primary partition)to 6.5G(windows hda1),that was over 6 months ago.Now I find that after installing a few extra packages I am running out of space on that partition. The windows C: partition is over resourced and has 6G free, and I have a second HDD that is 80G and is partitioned 50/50 for windows and suse,I use this HDD for docs(windows) and home(suse).

I see myself as having 2 options
1/..resizing windows Creducing it by 3-4G)and using the surplus to expand hda7 by that amount
or...
2/extending hda7 into my other HDD,as there I have 35g to play with....
I would prefer to keep system and file partition separate....so option 1 is favourite......
I have looked at the suse10 bible and a few HOWTO's on the web....and have been offered a lot of different resolution....
the one that seems easiest is to use repair in yast and resize there...
Is this the best option?
I am not that new to suse but still a at linux so I would be grateful for any suggestion,as I can see that the next update will be .....INTERESTING....to say the least....

Hope there is someone to give me a push in the right direction....
I would prefer the safest option...

If you prefer to resize the Windows partition, I'd suggest the following approach:

1. While you are running Windows, assume each file is either Important (eg, critical data you don't want to lose), Possibly Useful (eg, files you've downloaded in the past, which you kinda want to save, but aren't essential), or Unnecessary (eg, anything you know you don't need). Backup the Important and Possibly Useful files, and then delete the Unnecssary files. Go ahead and delete the Possibly Useful files too if you want to increase your ability to add space to /dev/hda7. Note: When I say "Important", I'm referring to your personal files, not Windows system files or Program Files. You'll want to keep those, but my point is if you've got a lot of old data laying around that you realistically know you'll never need, just get rid of it.

2. Verify that your backups work.

3. Defrag the drive. The purpose of the defrag is to maximize the amount of contiguous free space at the end of the drive, which increases the chances you'll be able to give more to another partition (in your case, /dev/hda7)

4. Use something like BootIT NG (available for free trial download) to resize your Windows partition.

Thank you JW but it is not the windows partition I am worried about.I have paragon partition manager 8 and that can even resize me reiserFS partition.
It is the suse partition that I am unsure of.I am a 6 month veteran of suse and I like the challenges that it brings me.
Would it be best to boot with the install disc and using the repair option to resize hda7?I know I have to unmount the drive before I can work on it.
Or maybe the afore mentioned paragon?,though I haven't used it in anger yet.
Or is there a better way?
