I was thinking about re-installing Konqueror as a file manager and browser. Are there any pre-cautions to take? Can I risk losing something, like folders and such? I don't care about losing preferences and such in Konqueror. As long as my files stay where they are, and will continue to stay when I install Konqueror again, I'm happy.
Thanks for a quick answer. So, I go to Yast, I look up that package and I mark it for removing, and then I install it again? Are there any other file managers that are available for KDE?
I use Krusader which is a 2 pane filemanager. You can find it at kde-apps.org along with lots of other kde-apps. YAST may not let you select kdebase for uninstallation, so you may have to download the latest packages from the Suse repositories and install it manually using the rpm command. You probably don't even need to reinstall. If you messed up your konqueror settings, you can just delete .kde/share/apps/konqueror and .kde/share/config/konquerorrc to startch from scratch.
Yeah, I tried Krusader, I didn't find it so neat, specially cause of the split-screen view. I re-installed Konqueror and it seems to work a little better, it's still a bit bad cause of the pre-views that sometimes doesn't work until I load the pre-view profile again...
