NFS mount error 5

Hi,

Trying to mount a NFS share like this:

Code:
mount -t nfs server:/share /mnt
sometimes fails and local /var/log/messages says "kernel: RPC: error 5 connecting to server", and at the prompt the mount command says: "mount: server:/share can't read superblock".

The server (FreeBSD) /var/log/messages says nothing.

Client SusE version: 10.0

Without changing anything what so ever, nfs mounting can either start or stop working again. Mounting works fine for FreeBSD clients so I don't think the server is to blame.

Sound familiar?
Any ideas?

Thus suggesting the server is to blame, right?
I kinda draw the conclusion that the server is fine since some SuSE clients can NFS mount at the same time as others can't, but I could of course be wrong. Anyway I don't want to unexport and fsck just yet as that share needs to be accessible for other clients for at least another week until the end of a course at my university.

Just curious, do you happen to know which version of NFS is being used here? I know that version 2 linux NFS clients connecting to BSD version 2 NFS servers have had problems in the past, and that there is data out there concerning this on webpages, given a decent google search.
