Need to restore /usr/bin/wc in a SUSE 10.2 64bits

I am desperate.

I have overwritten my /usr/bin/wc command file, and do not have a proper backup. Now my system barely boots but I get lots of errors.

Were can I get the binary file from to replace it? Can someone provide it to me?

Thanks
Oriol

I don't know why the word count utility would be involved in booting SuSE. You should be able to restore that by using the software package installer in YaST.

I believe that any problems booting your system are due to other problems.

WC wile booting

Aparently some init scripts use wc and were failing because of that.

I just copied the binary from an ubuntu live CD and it worked. ... I got the system to boot and reduced the number of errors but still it is not booting reliably.

I made a repair with the suse 10.1 install DVD and that also helped boot most of the applications. I can now at least access all services in my server but commands such as vi, grep, etc are not working ...

I am now backing up all application data and plan to upgrade to an Ubuntu server 10.10.

Thanks
Oriol
