My SuSE 10.1 issues : 2) Clock is too fast !

Hello to all,

I recently installed SuSE 10.1 in addition to the 10.0 on the same machine, and I have a couple of issues I'd like to solve. Here is the second one...

My computer is constantly displaying a wrong hour, minutes change every 20 seconds or so... Where could that come from ? Is there a link with my other issues ?

Any suggestion appreciated...

Willy

It's a hardware problem. It could be a bad power supply. You can change the time by running:

ntpdate <server>

You need to pick an atomic time server near your timezone.
This will update your PC with atomic time.
You can create a cron job to run this every 10 minutes.

ramram,

what is really strange is that I don't have such problem in SuSE 10.0, which is installed on the same computer (different partitions, of course...). I was thinking more of a problem coming from the failsafe settings I chose on installation...
