I have several iscsi devices that are attached when my suse 10.2 box boots. I need two of these devices to be attached as raw devices. I have found how to change the settings for the individual raw devices, however I am having trouble figuring out how to make sure that I get the same iscsi device mapped to the same raw device each time. Does anyone know how to do this? Do I need to manually attach each target in a shell script on boot in some way perhaps?



I figured this out after some work. The solution is to use the after.local file to manually attach the iscsi drives, then map the raw devices and set the privileges, all in the after.local.

I managed to get oracle clusterware installed yesterday using openfiler and openSuSE 10.2 64 bit. There were several issues I discovered in the process. I am writing a white paper on the subject, but will answer questions if someone responds here.

I think you achieved to solve your problem. But if you couldn't, there are some alternate routes for a successful persistent binding of raw devices.

- using multipath

Yes, I did find a way to do what I needed to do, but it is kind of kludgy. I am really doing the exercise as a learning experience, so I would like to hear about both solutions you suggest.
