Looking to block out certain web sites

I'm having issues with certain websites, where they crash Konqueror as soon as they load and I'd like to block them from even being loaded by my computer. Do I need a whole separate filter program or is there something built into KDE that will do this in a simple manner?

you may edit your /etc/hosts file, in order to block the sites you don't want.

it's something similar to this:

127.0.0.1 localhost

0.0.0.0 downloads.aaa1screensavers.com #[Bargin Buddy]
0.0.0.0 abcsearch.com
0.0.0.0 admin.abcsearch.com
0.0.0.0 www3.abcsearch.com #[Browseraid]
0.0.0.0 www.abcsearch.com
0.0.0.0 abc517.net #[Trojan.Mitglieder.H]...

i am not in front of my suse box right now, you only have to add the offending websites there (i have blocked more than a 1000 ad-sites, malware sites, etc.

or, use firefox instead of konqueror

hope this info helps
