I prefer almost anything but vi (except emacs which I detest -- since 1 first encountered it about 20 years ago) for my regular editing needs. I do believe that every serious Linux user should learn enough vi for emergency use. I just don't want to mess with modes again.
But the question is: Will vi display .xml better than Mozilla?
Specifically if OOo Writer is broken or unavailable, how can I best read the content.xml extracted from an .sxw file?
I'm sure kopete will open .xml's of the <!DOCTYPE Kopete-History> flavor, what I am looking for is a general XML reader. It's an extension of the original Q in this thread.
