"Is there nebody Using ATIRadeon9200 SE Graphics Card"
Hi,
I have ATI Radeon 9200SE graphics Card (128MB) in SUSE... and I have tried to install drivers that were available there in ati.com and failed saying there are new versions of Drivers in SUSE.. But when ever I tried to use any 3D game I am getting logged out..
My "xvinfo" is saying that "no adapter present" -- what does this mean??
I have installed MPlayer and if failed working giving the following errors....
vo: X11 running at 1280x960 with depth 24 and 32 bpp (":0" => local display)
It seems there is no Xvideo support for your video card available.
Run 'xvinfo' to verify its Xv support, and read Xv section of DOCS/video.html !
See 'mplayer -vo help' for other (non-xv) video out drivers. Try -vo x11
Error opening/initializing the selected video_out (-vo) device!
Can neone who is using ATI Radeon 9200 SE Graphics Card successfully in SUSE.. help me..I will be very grateful to him...
My last PC had an Xtasy(third party ATI Radeon) 9200 SE 128MB PCI graphics card. I tried for countless hours and was unable to get it working properly. I don't remember seeing anyone else who'd gotten a 9200 SE working. Good luck.
i have had a radeon 9200se-based card working - grab the ati driver from their website, and follow the instructions to the letter. and when setting things up, i'd recommend chosing very conservative settings to begin with (ie, horizontal / vertical sync) - just to make sure all is well. another good idea, if you've got the means, is to have another machine handy on your network, from which you can ssh in and make changes to the config files if required - blank screens can be very off-putting!
it is a horrible driver to get going, and i don't rate it much even when it is installed - too many bugs, and performance is only adequate. but it can be done with perseverence.
i use an nVidia card on my own rig - and their driver is so much better... perhaps bear in mind for any future purchasing decisions....
