Installing ATI Radeon drives on Suse 9.1, 64 bit

I'm opening this in response to electronique's post in the upgrade from 9.1 to 9.2 thread, which I didn't want to hijack.

I went here to find out how to install drivers on a Suse distro. I then went here , which is as close to finding the driver code as I could find. Bear in mind I'm a newbie and don't really know what an rpm is, I'm thinking I can't compile because the rpm does not contain source code. And, even if I could compile and install, wouldn't that be dangerous given that I can't find a 64 bit ATI driver anywhere? I would think that if it were that simple, the drivers would be widely available.

Since no one else has replied, I figured I'd give you my two cents. I am pretty sure that there aren't going to be drivers for you to use with the 64 bit os, and that the 32 bit drivers aren't going to work. Of course I could be wrong.... Another good info source for Suse is www.suseforums.com. Hope this helps.
