Just run the installer from the Ubuntu LiveCD. You will be given the choice to do a side-by-side install, shrinking your suse partition to make room for Ubuntu.

If you have a LiveCD from http://www.ubuntu.com/download/ubuntu/download

You should get the screen from my attachment.

Then choose Install Ubuntu alongside them

If this is your laptop, it's 64bit.
http://www.pcworld.com/product/52743...s.html?p=specs
The os is 32bit but computer 64bit, computer manufacturers want you to pay for upgrades.all
You can install 64 bit

The computer can handle 64bit os. You can run 32bit os but won't get the benefit of the 4gig ram.
cat /proc/cpuinfo.
