Unhappy How to change the value in 'G_FILENAME_ENCODING' variable?

I am trying to change the value of 'G_FILENAME_ENCODING'variable.
It seems some how it is related to firefox keyboard input and Adobe flash player as I posted a couple of days ago.
When Firefox is running with flash player plugin the following warning pops up in the console window in which firefox was executed.

Flash Player: Warning: environment variable G_FILENAME_ENCODING is set and is not UTF-8

When this warning pops up firefox does not take keyboard input.
So I guess, if I change 'G_FILENAME_ENCODING' variable to UTF-8 the problem will be fixed. But I don't know how.

I tried export G_FILENAME_ENCODING="UTF-8" in the console and executed firefox but it does not solve the problem.
How do I change the value in the variable?

Thanks in advance for help.

Here is the value of mine:
echo $G_FILENAME_ENCODING
@locale,UTF-8,ISO-8859-15,CP1252

It is set by the profile.d/zzz-glib2.sh script. It uses the LANG variable.

Use yast to set your language or edit /etc/sysconfig/language and run "sudo /sbin/SuSEconfig --nonewpackage".
