How do I partition my hard drive with Suse 9.0?

Greetings, I have Suse 9.0 Pro and would like to partition my HD so I can put an installation of Suse 9.2 in it. How now brown cow?

I know it has a partitoner. I guess my question is: Don't I need to de-frag my HD before I slice and dice? If so, HOW? I don't see a de-frag program.....Or am I barking up the wrong tree again? I have a 120Gigs to work with on a separate HD from a XP installation.

Hmmm...then again, after looking at the program and all the questions it asks. I'd love it if someone would hold my hand and walk me through it step by step.

I need to go somewhere in the morning and won't be back until late. I hope that I have given you enough information to work with.

Then again....perhaps I should just bite the bullet and write over my 9.0.......

Just start yast and use its partitioner, ignore the warning. You don't have to defrag ever. I'm assuming that this 120GB is non-partitioned at the moment?.

Once you have the partitioner open, make sure that when creating new partitions, you are selecting HDB or whatever your second hard drive comes up as.

If I can persuade you, I'd upgrade from 9.0 to 9.1. I'm not 100% happy with 9.2 right now. I upgraded 2 machines from 9.1 and then re-installed 9.1 on my desktop. The only reason I left 9.2 on my laptop was because my laptops video card has 3d acceleration with 9.2 using X.org 6.8.1

Hmmm....that is no doubt very wise advice, and I appreciate it. However, after all the trouble I went through to finally get it burned onto a DVD..... I'm stubbornly obsessed to see it installed.

My 120 already has 9.0 on it. I think I will install over it since I've yet to put much information (files) on it that are worth saving. My main concern is that I have a bad disk and have to re-install 9.0 and spend all night with the updates.

If things don't work out for me with 9.2 then I'll go for the 9.1. I'm hoping that if there are any bugs on my end that they will fix them in the near future. It is my hope that by the end of the year I can completely wean myself from any M$ products once and for all.

Thanks!
