Having Trouble with repositories

Suse newb here. I've been using fedora 4 for about a year and wanted to upgrade. I found that suse comes with wireless support so I tried opensuse SUPER 10.0. It installed great and my wireless works out of the box! So now I'm trying to keep my system updated by using yast. However, after I added repositories, I don't think I'm getting the new versions of software. For example, the repositories show firefox 1.06, but I have 1.4 installed. I want to upgrade to 1.5, but I can find it in yast. Am I adding the wrong repositories?

Also, is there a webpage like: stanton-finley.net/fedora_core_5_installation_notes.html

Can I just use fedora rpm's for suse?

Here is what I have in yast installation source:

packman.rsync.zmi.at/suse/10.0/
mirrors.kernel.org/opensuse/distribution/SL-10.0-OSS/inst-source-java/
mirrors.kernel.org/opensuse/distribution/SL-10.0-OSS/inst-source/
mirrors.kernel.org/suse/i386/10.0/SUSE-Linux10.0-GM-Extra/
ftp.skynet.be/pub/suser-guru/rpm/10.0/

I've also added these, but I'm not sure they work:

software.opensuse.org/download/KDE:/KDE3/SUSE_Linux_10.0/
software.opensuse.org/download/KDE:/Backports/SUSE_Linux_10.0/

I got these links from:
thejemreport.com/mambo/content/view/178/42/
susewiki.org/index.php?title=Finding_RPMs#YaST_Sources

Any help would be appreciated!

Hi

The easiest way to get the latest and greatest Firefox is to download it from www.mozilla.com. Detailed installation instructions are available - and it's dead simple!

I wouldn't use fedora RPMs. There are significant differences in the directories things are put in.

I use this for my main repository, although I can't see where the kernel.org mirrors differ.

http source
Server:
ftp.opensuse.org
Directory:
pub/opensuse/distribution/SL-10.0-OSS/inst-source/

I'm fairly certain that addresses shouldn't have a colon ( in them.

HTH

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, I was hoping I didn't have to go to websites to get the latest update out of fear of doing something wrong. Also sometimes websites only have it from sources, which I don't like to install from.
