Have to re configure the printer after each boot in Suse 10.1.
I have an HP PSC 750 printer that usually works great in any flavor of linux. When I first installed Suse 10.1 it worked fine, but I started having problems after I unplugged the printer from the Suse machine and plugged it into my work laptop to do a quick print job. Once I plugged it back in to the linux box I couldn't print until I had removed the printer using Yast and re installed it. Now, I have to do this each time I reboot to get the printer to work. I want to troubleshoot this but don't know where to look. I'm guessing it has to do with the original config written in a setup file, vs which USB port the printer is actually plugged into now. Can anyone here help with 1) The name of the file this setting would be in. and 2) A command line (or other) way to ping the system and see where the printer is connected now?
Or is there another way I should be troubleshooting this?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
