Gutenprint for 10.1

Has anyone found an rpm version of gutenprint for Suse 10.1? I can't get the tar version to compile, dependancy issues. I find that w/o gutenprint, 10.1 won't detect a parallel port printer. Works fine on usb but escputil tools won't work with usb. At least ink level won't. This is in regards to an Epson C86 generally set-up as a C84.

Don't know if you found an rpm yet to install Gutenprint 5.0 or not but here is a resource page that says it has one.

When I was using Suse 10.1 I could never get Gutenprint 5.0 installed, I used a rpm from another resource but don't remember which one. I also had other issues with 10.1 and got rid of it. 10.2 on the other hand is working great, no issues yet, and it includes Gutenprint 5.0 so it recognized my Epson CX7800 printer/scanner.

Thanks for the reply. My printer, Epson C86 works fine w/o gutenprint but escputil won't check the ink level. With the parallel port and gutenprint it detects /dev/lp0 and all the utilities work. The way it is now, detected through usb, ink level won't work because it says it can't detect "raw Printer". So to check the ink level I have to boot out of Suse into Windows. I'm still trying to get your link to hook up. Thanks again.
