Unhappy GRUB removal(I can't)

My problem is that I removed Suse linux by formatting the harddrive in windows. Now I can't get past inital GRUB load up. Right after verifying dmi pool it displayes the word GRUB and my pc restarts. I've unpluged the drive linux was on but it says grub drive error and does nothing else. the mannual said to enter /fdisk mbr in dos but I can't get to dos or windows. I need to remove GRUB and leave the windows boot loader intact. Please help me I'm going nuts without my pc any help will do.

P.S. My specs are P2 266 Radeon 9200 pro 128Mb 3 hard drives cdrw 48x 268Mb sys ram. If that's much help.

You need the windows start floppy or cd-rom
Depending on the windows you're using the command is different.
For win98 it's "fdisk \mbr" and for XP i believe it's "fixmbr", but check around on the forum and you're sure to find it.

Noot your system using windows xp cd..
Instead of new installation ,choose repait and it will frop you maintanence mode .
Enter your administrator password.
write fixmbr and reboot ..
It will delete grub from your MBR

Cheers

When I did that a while ago, I downloaded the Windows ME boot disk from bootdisk.com and chose minimal boot, and then just typed fdisk /mbr from the A:> prompt. Took seconds.
