I get the following error when I try to reload GRUB from YAST:

I have a /boot/grub/stage2, a /boot/grub/menu.lst, but I don't have a /grub/*

Any suggestions as to what might be causing this?

I was having the same problem on my older machine. I just used LiLo instead of Grub and now it boots like a champ.

For the record, I upgraded to 64-Bit SUSE because I couldn't resolve the issue with Grub.

I know that you have moved on. I'm just speculating. You mentioned stage2, but not stage1. That would do it.
