Gnome's background on KDE...

Lately I've noticed that Gnome's background shows up after I logout/restart/shutdown a KDE session. Is anyone aware of this issue? What's the resolution? I've gotten to the point of almost removing Gnome from my system just so I don't see its background.

Killing Nautilus did the job. Is this a known bug? Does that mean that Gnome is also running in memory when using KDE?

Not really, it appears that somehow some process started nautilus, or nautilus wasn't shut down cleanly so it kept restarting everytime you logged into an X session.

there is a setting in the nautilus preferences 'use nautilus to render/display/draw desktop' (or something to that effect) you may want to find and deselect that.
