Getting VNC login to bare-bones ded server
OK, though not a complete SuSE newbie, this is proving a bit of a challenge ... I'm renting a screenless dedicated server (somewhere in the world) set up with SuSE 9.3, that's running Apache for me. I can administer some aspects with Webmin or use ssh to get a command-line shell for anything substantial. I'm trying to get a graphical login from it too. The SuSE 9.3 install it had was pretty minimal - didn't seem to be any sign of anything relating to X - so I started out installing things like the kdebase3-SuSE-9.3 and various dependencies, tightvnc, etc. Right now, the 'extended internet services' section of Webmin says that six VNC services are enabled (vnc1, vnc2, vnc3 and their httpd versions) but trying to connect from a tightvnc client just gives the message 'Failed to connect to server'. I'm sure there are a ton of key things that need to be done, not really sure where to start though. Anyone feel like helping me out from square one?
Thanks in advance for any first pointers.
Kevin.
