Flex rpm - where to get it?


I need it for the newest wine install.

I cant find it with Yast on the cd. Where can I get it?

rpm -Uvh /media/dvd/suse/i586/flex-2.5.4a-295.i586.rpm

excellent thank you.

I have now a problem with deinstaling the packages.

I installed freetype-1.3.1-1157.1.i586.rpm like this
# rpm -i freetype-1.3.1-1157.1.i586.rpm

Later I have figured out, I need a newer version. So I tried to deinstall it.
# rpm -e freetype-1.3.1-1157.1.i586.rpm

But it says:
error: package freetype-1.3.1-1157.1.i586.rpm is not installed

But it is installed. I tried to overwrite it with the newer version through --force.
BUt the old one is still there.

What shall I do now?

Did you know that installation with YaST is much easier and more reliable that using the command-line? YaST checks for dependencies automatically and runs the script suseconfig to update configurations.

To remove the freetype package, try rpm -e freetype

interesting. no i didn't know that.

Where in Yast can I do that? Is that the "change install source..." button?

No, if you would like to install software from your original CD, it should already be a registered installation source. Use the 'Install and Remove Software' module.

But in case you miss packages on your CD (e.g. you have a downloaded or Personal version), have a look here:
