Cool connect to a BBS ?


Can anyone help please ?
As a Radio Ham I have been able to access BBS system in order to read bulletins and messages
I was able to do this in Windows XP home using a program called Winpack. This is a packet prog that is configured to connect to a BBS via internet as well as radio
The connection is configured via Telnet setup with in the program
I would like to do a similar thing from here within SUSE 10
It isnt immediately obviousto me how to do this
Can anyone help and at least point me in the right direction please
