Another Woe with 9.3 -- No LOCALE (KDE)

Can't start up KDE (Hangs after STARTX command)

get message INPUT_METHOD is not set or empty (no user selected input method)

Trying to start a default input method for the locale en+GB-UTF-8

There is no default input method for the current locale.

Waiting for X server to shut down.

What is Wrong with this 9.3 system --nearly everything I've tried DOESN'T work.

Wonder if I've got a bad set of CD's.

Cheers

Hmmm, when someone says nearly everything doesn't work, that's like a warning sign that you either have bad media (CD's), OR , you seriously muffed up the basic install. Betwixt the two, it's probably the latter. You're not trying to run the 64 bit version are you?

Hi -- BAD CD's -- I had trouble with nearly everything
I re-downloaded the CD's from a different mirror and install went 99% OK -- only Wireless Networking (since fixed with Linuxant --although I had Wireless around 99% working with NDIS.

I had some issues with DVD but removed everything to do with XINE from the distro and loded the player I've been using dince rel 8

Works fine.

Cheers
