I dont have another computer to stick the disks in. This is a laptop :|

Rewite the partition table isnt easy stuff. Im new to linux. This experiance has really put me off. I dont see why the IDE channels would be damaged. Since the machine has been fine for 2 years. Ive tried the channel the DVDROM is using but again I just get the GRUB command prompt.

I think my only option is to rewrite the partition table or maybe if I reinstalled SUSE?

I tempted to say stuff it and wait till I can get to work tomorrow. We have some Windows HDD recovery software there.
