opensuse 12.3 -[64] & oki mc361 printer & driver

i recently installed opensuse 12.3 [64]. i have a mc361 oki printer but have not been able to get the printer `seen' by the computer. oki has a driver for the linux 2.6 kernel [tar] which I downloaded [tar]. i kind of expected that the driver would be in `cups'?
I'm not sure how to proceed to `introduce' the computer & printer - untar the driver? where to put it?.
Can anybody clear this situation up?

Use the tar command listed, in a terminal. Read the readme...
