OpenSuSE 10.2 - Kernel Panic!
I finally managed to wait for the hype to die down and was able to download the 10.2 DVD. I installed it and everything went well. Then when I booted it up, I got a kernel panic. Lovely. I rebooted and the same problem occured. I immediately deleted SuSE 10.2. Anyone else get this problem?
I've not had that problem. So far my experience with Suse 10.2 has been a very good one. There are many reasons why someone can have a "kernel panic" error. Usually its because the root parition can't be found or some sort of configuration problem with the bootloader. Usually such problems can be fixed, so there probably was no need to delete Suse.

Ah! you are correct! This time I did the GUI install. I initially did a text-only install. I guess something must have went wrong. My SuSE 10.2 is up and running. And the online update actually works!!!! It looks beautiful on my 1680x1050 widescreen. Why is it that SuSE is the BEST looking distro out of them all? I have used and tried many distros like Ubuntu (which I love!), Fedora Core 6, Mandriva, Mepis, and CentOS, and none of these look as nice as SuSE.
Will play around with it some more. I only wish that SuSE could fit the whole OS onto 1 CD rather than 5 CD's (1 DVD). It's huge!!!
