Wink Why don't I get internet connection in Solaris

installed SUN Solaris 10 5 CDs Dell Optiplex Gx60 (my desktop) as my stand alone OS in this computer. I have hooked this computer with Linksys Wireless adapter which is connected to the landlords LinksysRouter.

This is for sure Dynamic IP address. Since there were some problems so I did not provide any kind of information while installing. Now the OS is running fine. I also digged more information, such as the output of: ifconfig -a, netstat -r which gives me the following information:

# ifconfig -a
lo0: flags=2001000849<UP, LOOPBACK, running, multicast, IPV4, Virtual>mtu 8232 index 1 inet 127.0.0.1 netmask ff000000

# netstat -r
Routing Table: IPv4
Destination Gateway flags ref use interface

224.0.0.0 localhost U 1 0 lo0
localhost localhost UH 9 13129 lo0

I googled the net but I did not find the answer I understood for this problem.

Any help in this regard, i.e., what I need to do to connect the internet using the above parameters.

Well, the first thing to check if you wireless network adapter is supported by some driver. ifconfig tells you that no NIC is up, except the loopback device so the first thing to do is bring your device up.

Code:
This is for sure Dynamic IP address. Since there were some problems so I did not provide any kind of information while installing.
What does this mean? Unless a NIC is configured, you can't get any IP. During the installation did the installer try to configure some NIC? If a NIC was configured with DHCP you should a file named /etc/dhcp.[nicdriver][instance], as for example /etc/dhcp.bge0.

I avoided to to config NIC due to installation problems it gave. I got the impression that I can config NIC after my OS Solaris is installed. This a standalone system in my PC.

I tried to install the driver through cdrom (sys files, no iso files)I downloaded from the internet. Am I doing something wrong? I am newbie in this field.

I see /etc/dhcp as a directory with dhcp directory has two files named: inittab and inittab6.

Can you tell more about these installation problems you met ?
What driver are you trying to install ?
Where did you get it ?
Are you sure it matches your NIC ?
