I'm creating some documents on how to verify whether or not a patch has been installed if you have to do it manually (no external programs or anything). I'm practically brand new to Solaris (and actually I'm having the same issue with HP-UX 10/11 if anyone can offer help on that side as well) so I'm clueless as to how to check to see if a patch has been installed. Can anyone elighten me?
Just to expand a bit, as an example, Linux patches are actually either Kernel upgrades or new versions of software, so you just check the version numbers. Microsoft Windows patches are easy because they list all the installed patches in the registry.
WHat does this mean? Also, i installed solaris 8 02/02. What patches do I need? Is there a list? If so, where can I download these lists of patches? Thanks!
