Unable to Boot Nexenta Alpha 5

hi all,
I'm new to solaris from linux/bsd. when i install nexenta on my laptop (Dell Inspiron 2200) it goes completely through the install and everything seems fine until i reboot. the POST (or Dell screen whatever you want to call it) comes up then the i go to the GRUB menu and no matter what selection i try the system automatically reboots. any suggestions on what I'm doing wrong?

When you say rebooting, do you mean it starts to load the OS and then panics and reboots in a loop? What are the last messages displayed on the screen before the reboot happens?

It doesn't even load the OS. It will just power down then on again. It seems like a kernel panic but no messages are displayed at all.

I'm trying to reinstall now with a newly downloaded ISO. Maybe I got a bad download.

Thanks for the link. I'll try those tips when I get home.

I tried a reinstall. Selecting Desktop still. With the same results.

Just curious if anyone thinks reinstalling as "Minimal" would help anything?
