solaris virtualization

Hi everyone,

I have ten servers with solaris (diffrent versions).
there is solaris 10, solaris 6 and solaris 8.

some are SPARC and some are x86

I would like to move them to one server so they all will be virtual.

Is it possible? how?

Yes, by using LDOM's on SPARC, Zones (Solaris Containers) on SPARC and amd64 and Oracle VM (their Xen).

AFAIK, Solaris 6 (actually 2.6) cannot be virtualized with current solutions.
You cannot run both SPARC and x86 binaries on the same server, you'll need at least one per hardware architecture.
You can use zones for Solaris 10 consolidation (and Solaris 8 on SPARC).
In Addition to Oracle VM for x86, you can also use Oracle VM VirtualBox to consolidate Solaris servers.

I think I'd call oracle for some ideas.
