Solaris 10 installation and boot loader

Hi,

I'd like to know if it is possible to prevent the Solaris 10 installer to modify the boot loader of the MBR.

(I ask this question because I have several operating systems on my computer. I boot all of them using lilo . The problem is that my floppy drive is out of order so I cannot boot otherwise than using the MBR boot program, so I really want to preserve it and add manualy Solaris to lilo)

Thanks

I'm afraid you can't avoid the installer overwriting the MBR.

Anyway, you can also install lilo or another bootloader on a primary linux partition before installing Solaris, and then have Solaris boot that partition once installed (on the first boot menu), so you'll be able to use your previous lilo settings.

Thanks. You confirm what I understood reading howtos.

So, I have to decide.... maybe the first step will be to buy a new floppy drive !
