Relationship SVR4-BSD-Solarsi

hi,

some times i'm reading about SVR4 and BSD. But i really want to learn about relationship between SVR4-sunOS/Solaris, and BSD-sunOS/Solaris.

in other words ;

is SVR4 descendant of Solaris?
is BSD descendant of Solaris?

and of course relationship between sunOS and Solaris.

tks in advance,

Solaris 2 and up is an implementation (i.e. based on code) of SVR4.0

Sun was co-founded in 1982 by Bill Joy, BSD main author.

Before switching to SVR4 in 1991, Sun operating system was based on BSD.

SVR4.0 is the result of some kind of merging between System V release 3.2 and BSD (the core was SVR3 though).

Solaris is the name of the distribution, SunOS is the name of the kernel.
