I saw this in a Twitter link this morning. I had just done an image-update from build 118 to build 129 yesterday. This morning I booted up, clicked on Package Manager and it just sat there churning trying to update the package list.
I went to this site:
http://c0t0d0s0.org/archives/6223-Pa...laris-129.html
I followed this advice: " As i've got the question twice in last few days through Mail: There is a "bug" in the OpenSolaris 129 distribution that prevents the Package Manager from working. There is a missing package with python 2.6 extras. You can install it with pfexec pkg install SUNWgnome-python26-extras. After installing this package, the Package Manager will start again without any problems."
I installed the package, re-fired Package Manager, and all seems to be well. Use at your own discretion.
I later found this comment, "Hm...mine seems to work (2 different installations). And "pfexec pkg install SUNWgnome-python26-extras" brings only "No updates necessary". Seems like the bug does not effect all 129 installs?"
When I ran the code from the link with pfexec the terminal displayed a line that said something about making a plan with a spinning character (sorry, I don't remember exactly), and then displayed "No updates necessary".
