LiveCD doesn't boot on laptop

It seems when I try to boot off the 2008.05 disc, it gets stuck at this message:
Code:
Probing for device nodes....
Adding the -v option didn't reveal any further details. It hung at this last line:
Code:
UltraDMA mode 5 selected
Should I try using the newer developer version instead? This is an Acer Travelmate 8210.

This could be an issues of a corrupt disc or an ISO that you must have downloaded?
Did you verify the checksum?

Secondly(This was the issues with mine)
your laptop has a usb 2.0 support .
For some strange reasons this will not allow the OS to boot.(At least it did not for me!!)
so just try disabling it in the bios and give it a shot!

All the best!
