How to know IPv6 address-type ???

Hello friends,
just a small question.

How do we get address-type for IPv6 addresses?

For e.g:-

In Linux, we have following commands:-
1) Ifconfig
inet6 addr: fe80::21a:4dff:fe0e:c600/64 Scope:Link

2) ip -6 addr show dev eth0
inet6 fe80::21a:4dff:fe0e:c600/64 scope link

So, we can get type of IPv6 address like whether it is Link-local,dynamic , Site-local,Global,etc.

How can we find this in Solaris-10?

Thanks in advance.

Not so hot on IPv6... so anyone feel free to jump in here.

"private addresses" from IPv4 are known as unique local addresses (ULA). They start with fc00::/7

link-local addresses start with fe80: address are produced generally by the OS. These are similar to those you occasionally see with IPv4 self-assigned IP addresses starting with 169.254.X.X, IPv6 does a lot more with them.

This might help:

You'd get a better answer in the Networking forum...
