Thanks for the links.

Did you try building wine and eclipse with these tools ? Any feedback about the process and the resulting binaries ?

Do they work well ?

I had disappointing experiences with both of them on Solaris.

I have only tried the Wine build instructions. Those are the ones I posted here in the "Wine" thread and they worked for me. I havent tried the other ones. The things I tried worked well. But, those packages are only for Solaris Express.

The point is, I didnt know where to find these CBE packages. I just posted the links, in case someone else didnt knew either. Just for reference.

Here are CBE build instructions (the package system). However, these build instructions check out spec files from another repository than Doug Scott refers too, in the "Wine" thread. This repository seems more up to date than Doug Scotts. Am I misunderstanding something?

EDIT:
The Wine thread, see how to create a CBE user in post #6:
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...ctions-572735/

Right now I am compiling Eclipse v3.3 and it seems to work. Dont know yet, no build errors this far. I will report soon how the build went.

EDIT EDIT: Ok, Eclipse v3.3 is up and running on Open Solaris. Everything went fine. Now I will try VLC player. Also the Wine version is 0.9.50 here.
