[Solaris 8] Bind 9.3.5 chroot issues

My old bind runs as "/usr/local/sbin/named -u domain -t /usr/local/domain" - I compiled a new ISC bind from source under /usr/local/bind/

If I do "/usr/local/bind/sbin/named -u domain -t /usr/local/bind/" I get
named: config filename (-c /usr/local/bind//etc/named.conf) contains chroot path (-t /usr/local/bind/)

If I do "/usr/local/bind/sbin/named -u domain -t /usr/local/bind/ -c /etc/named.conf" I get

"couldn't open pid file '/usr/local/bind//var/run/named.pid': No such file or directory"

The user "domain"'s home directory is /usr/local/domain and it has write permission under /usr/local/bind/var/run/ to create and rm files.

Would anyone know the solution to this issue?

Thanks for any help.
